What are the RF benefits of Agnes?

Agnes can contour the chin, jowls, upper eyelids, and significantly reduce lower eyelid bags. It can also minimize wrinkles to the face and body.

When should I expect to see RF microneedling results?

Visible tightening results come immediately and the results of dermal remodeling appear over time in the course of new collagen, elastin fiber regeneration, and vascular remodeling. For most clients, measurable results appear gradually in 2-3 months. The results can last 6 months to a year following a treatment series depending on your skin condition and the aging process.

Are there any contraindications?

You should not have this treatment performed if you have an implantable metal electrical device such as a pacemaker, cardioverter or defibrillator. You should also avoid this if pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have had keloid or delayed recovery, you are not a candidate. We also do not treat clients with a history of skin cancer in the areas to be treated.

What do I need to do before my Agnes RF treatment?

We recommend avoiding blood thinners (NSAIDs) for one week. Avoid lasers, LED light treatments or chemical peels for 4 weeks before your treatment. Avoid all skincare products containing retinol for 4 weeks. Discontinue Accutane use 6 months prior to treatment. Drink a lot of water for 4 days before the treatment. Avoid sun tanning, sun exposure and spray-on tanning for 2 weeks before.

How do I take care of my skin after the Agnes RF treatment?

Keep the area covered for the first 24 hours. Cleanse with a gentle cleanser. Use the recommended post-care for 48-72 hours and add growth factors and hyaluronic acid for quicker healing times. Avoid using any products containing retinol or acid cleansers for 2 weeks. Avoid the sun, sun tanning or spray tanning for 2 weeks after treatment. Always wear an SPF of 25 or greater.

Is it safe for all skin types by AGNES?

AGNES is a radiofrequency microneedle device that can treat the patient regardless of skin color. Agnes has nine different types of microneedle, and each type has own unique design to satisfy the procedure as safe as possible. Further, the output radiofrequency energy from Agnes is NOT like other traditional sine waveforms which can affect thermal damage to the soft tissue by the residual tale heat, but the square waveform of radiofrequency energy by Agnes can save the surrounding tissues from the residual tale heat like fast start and quick stop. Although Agnes RF device is safer in patients of skin color compared to lasers, any significant heat can result in an increased risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

How can we avoid hyperpigmentations from the microneedling treatment? Does the skin type V and VI require skin test patch before Agnes treatment?

It is a good idea to find the objective measurement via skin test patch from the type V and VI for the better treatment plan. We recommend using Lyterra 2 weeks prior to the Agnes treatment. It will suppress melanin activity.

A Duo-Derm patch will be applied for the first 24 hours as post-care. This will speed up healing times and reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation.

Are metal implants a true contraindication or at the discretion of the provider?

The metal implant is one of the main contraindications to Agnes. However, the metal implant is not the absolute contraindication to the Agnes procedures depending on the distance from the treatment target and the size of the implant EXCEPT for the cardiac pacemaker. The patient with the dental implant can be scheduled for Agnes procedures unless the patient has other medical contraindications.

For acne treatments, how long do you recommend waiting before the 2nd treatment?

A follow up will be scheduled for 30 days to reassess the area. Treatments can be performed as often as monthly.

Can Agnes RF be used for different skin types?

Unlike laser treatments, Agnes is safe on all skin types. Agnes will provide total skin rejuvenation with minimal chance of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

How long does a Agnes RF take?

We recommend picking up the numbing cream ahead of time. This will save 30 minutes in the office. It takes about 20 minutes to one hour depending on the size of the treatment area.

What is 'Radio Frequency Microneedling'?

Radiofrequency is a type of energy, which measured in frequency per second and falls into the range of 300KHz to 5MHz. The microneedle penetrates the skin layer and delivers radiofrequency energy to the target tissue to induce new collagen and elastin production helping skin become firmer and tighter by the producing heat. Unlike the laser procedure, the radiofrequency microneedling procedure is color-blind so that it is safe, relatively, if you are tan or have a dark color of skin.

What is the difference between AGNES and other RF microneedling devices?

Agnes is an RF microneedling devices like others in the market regarding the energy utilization. However, Agnes is the only RF device to produce stronger energy than other devices to the skin tissue from inducing new collagen production to destroying targets such as the sebaceous gland regarding the energy application. Further, Agnes is the only RF device utilizing a single pin or three pin needle as an application electrode which is partially insulated to protect the epidermis or other tissues from the thermal burn.

What is the difference between Agnes and other Radio Frequency devices?

The difference between 1MHz and 5MHz is merely the speed and distance of the thermal effect from the source of radiofrequency energy. If the given power(Watt) and pulse duration (msec) on both 1MHz and 5MHz are the same amounts, then 5MHz will heat the soft tissue faster, but the distance will be shorter than 1MHz from the energy source which is the electrode. While 1MHz will be relatively slower on heating the soft tissue than 5MHz, it covers more extensive areas of the thermal effect than 5MHz and will be more useful to destroying the sebaceous gland or melting fat tissues while minimizing the pain and the thermal burn.

Will the fat under the chin come back after treatment?

Like the other volume reduction procedure, weight gain can cause the area to become fuller again. The procedure does not kill all the fat cells and the ones remaining can fill up with fat again with rapid weight gain.

Is antibiotic therapy needed after an acne treatment?

Minocycline or Doxycycline should be taken along with an NSAID for one week after treatment. When destroying the sebaceous gland, the oil will collect on the skin and may cause initial worsening.

Can I be treated if I have melasma?

Yes. You should start a melanin suppressing product thirty days before the treatment to avoid or minimize any unfavorable skin pigmentation. We recommend Lytera by Skin Medica.
